Moving rooms – my books and stationery.

Well, I am finally out of the box room! Now I have a good sized room, a double bed and an en suite! It’s great! We have yet to decorate it. My mum has said that they will do it when I go back to University, so I’m not actually in the room!

I just thought I would show you my desk area, shelves and bookcase for now! I will do a full bedroom post once every thing is done (probably in a few months!).

So, here is my desk area! This desk is really quite narrow (and yes, my furniture doesn’t match…) so I’ve decided to attempt to keep it quite minimal. I have my TV, laptop, Filofax and you can’t see it, but behind my laptop is a little pot for some pens. I also have a couple of candles on there.

On this little shelf, I have my stationery holder on the first shelf. This has more pens, paper clips and all that sort of stuff. My desk just isn’t big enough to have this on as well! Next is my notebooks section. I’ve only put a few on here so far. Just my prettiest ones! Underneath that shelf is a drawer thingy that just has paper, tape, ink and random bits in it. And I also have all my Filofaxes (There’s four there!) Then of course it’s the bin, and a random folder that is holding magazine pages (more to come on this!)

Next up is my bookcase. Now I’m not sure that I have found every book that I own… It doesn’t look like much! And yep, I put my books in alphabetical order! Though I’m not sure whether each letter section is alphabetical… Need to check that!

My Harry Potter books and LoTR books. Also have a small selection of nature/bird/tree books at the end xD Also, my Harry Judd drumstick that I caught and got signed! (And other random bits)

Notice the two AFRICA books? I got one for my birthday, and then won one in a photography competition! Oops! Some of the books are flat because they just stick out so much!

Bedroom ideas!

Soon I will be moving rooms, and that means a whole new layout/design! These are some of the things that I’d really love to have in my room! I have an idea – I want a natural looking theme.

I think these ‘cubby hole’ shelves look neat! I could use this for all my bits and bobs! Or maybe even for stationery! 😉 – Source

I love this wallpaper! I did want the neutral colours one, but they seem to have taken it down! My sister just put this up in her new house and it looks awesome! – Source

Now I decided that I would make my own (or well, my dad would!) so I won’t actually be buying this, but I love how it looks. Mine is almost done, I just need to add some writing to it, but I’ll do a post when it’s up on the wall! – Source

And these are so pretty! I’ve found a use for the empty bottles/jars that I have collected :3 – Source

My Week #25 (& a quick Organised Mum inserts week review)

So this week was the first week of using these inserts. Overall, I really liked them! I liked the fact that I could put all my exercise in one column – it gives a clearer view. Obviously, this format works and that’s why it’s good for mums… You can have a column for a child! It was a bit strange going from cotton cream paper to the bright white, but I think that makes my colour pens really pop! I think the major downside for me, is that I don’t feel like I can stick big sticky notes on there as they will cover a lot. We’ll see though!

imageI also bought a Bonsai tree this week! I love how these look, and I can’t wait to move into my new room so I can decorate and have my tree on my desk! I actually don’t know what type of tree this is, so maybe I should find that out… And if you have any ideas, I’d be glad to hear them!

I’m already deciding on things that I want in my room, and items that I want to buy… I won’t be getting that room for at least another 3 weeks! I just can’t wait to get out of this box room! I’ve already decided that my room will have neutral colours. I want it to feel more nature-related.

And here are two photos of Charlie. Just because she’s cute!

Where do I blog?

Having just finished university, I am now back at home! I was nice enough to give my brother my room when I went to university, as he had been stuck in the box room for the first 16 years of his life… Well, now I am back, he’s still in that room and I’ve been relegated to the box room! I don’t know how he coped! Thankfully, by the end of July, I will be in the downstairs bedroom with an en-suite! (I can’t wait!)

Anyway, since I’m in the tiny room, I’ve had to make the best of what room I have… This is my current desk area and the things that I usually have around me!

TV
I still haven’t got an aerial for this, so I have it hooked up to my laptop to watch films/tv shows etc from there!
Laptop
Of course!
Water
I always carry this water bottle with me, I should probably get a new one… But yeah, water to try to ward off the unhealthy drinks. Unfortunately, a Dr Pepper seems to have appeared.
Pens
I have lots of pens! This organiser is actually very empty because I still haven’t sorted through everything since getting back from uni!
Filofax
On my desk for easy access!
Stationery drawer
I decided that I needed the top drawer to be filled with important stuff, and yes that includes stationery stuff! (The one below is toiletries!)

What you can’t see is that my bed is directly behind the desk… less than a metre in space there! I have my TV propped up by big wildlife/nature books because the drawers holding all my tops is just a little too short! It’s working for now – I just can’t wait to get a bigger room again! (My sister is moving out!)

Product Reviews! Part 1.*

I received some products from Matalan to review, so here’s part 1. Everything I write here is my honest opinion of the products.

Camper Van Lunch Bag & Bottle Set
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I think this is a cute little lunchbox. It is fairly big, and as you can see I managed to fit in a tupperware box as well as some other foods. It seems to be sturdy, so perfect for kids! The only problems that I had were with the water bottle. The holder doesn’t feel like it would keep the bottle in… I’d imagine that kids wouldn’t be as careful when carrying/moving the lunch box and so the drinks bottle could easily fall out or be lost. I also didn’t like the drinks ‘hole’. It felt awkward when drinking, and wasn’t easy for me! It’s quite an odd shape.

Fusion Bedding Set In Single

I had one problem with this – there was only 1 pillow case! I would have preferred two, and I think most people have two pillows, right? When putting the cover on, it didn’t feel that soft… When I got in bed, I was so happy. It made my duvet seem thicker, and just felt so much better than my last duvet cover. This one also had poppers at the end, which is more than I can say for my last set! This cover also has an eye-catching pattern, and I think it looks cool! The colours are different greys, and I’d say the darker ones have a slight green tinge.
